A three week residency at Officine Saffi Gallery, Milan provided the time/space/ideas for this work:
This work is then about nothing, but not in the sense of being meaningless or having no context. Instead, it arises from fortuitous interactions with the city of Milan. In this are the multitudes of experiential phenomena that occur every moment and yet are too complex to be fully grasped. In other words, the work arises from my experience of Milan's people, buildings and decorations, as well as the embedded history written upon their surfaces. In that sense the work is about something, but it is the inspiration of, may I be so bold as to say, the indescribable experience of life.
